ARUNDEL

The name Armstrong in Ireland is often derived from Anglo settlers who arrived into the Province of Ulster in the seventeenth century. It is also occasionally the anglicized form of the O'Labhradha Sept (more usually changed to Lavery), and of the MacThreinfhir Sept (more usually changed to Trayor).

A Sept is an ancient Clan-like collective describing a group of persons whose immediate ancestors bore a common surname and inhabited the same territory.
